The Mass Effect trilogy is known for its fantastic cast of characters, thrilling story, and interesting sci-fi world. It is one of those RPG adventures that has a bit of everything from tragedy to humor and action. Basically, this game has the power to make its fans both laugh and cry.

On the humorous side of the game, there are a ton of memorable moments. The funny lines characters can say range between witty, silly, and blunt. While there are plenty of amusing lines in the base games, a lot of them are packed into DLC like the Citadel for Mass Effect 3 and Lair of the Shadow Broker for Mass Effect 2.

10 "It's A Taxi, Shepard. It Has A Fare Meter." - Liara

In Mass Effect 2's Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC, Shepard reunites with Liara to locate the Shadow Broker. This eventually leads to a car chase.

Shepard asks Liara what kind of guns this car has to which she answers, "It's a taxi, Shepard. It has a fare meter." This scene is already pretty funny since Liara is a major back-seat driver so the two characters are already yelling at each other.

9 "(S)He Messed With My Hamster, Guys. Now It's personal . . . Guys? Were You Gonna Say Something, Or... No, No. I Get It. Hard To Even Find The Words." - Shepard

This is one of the many funny lines from the Citadel DLC in Mass Effect 3. Since the second game, Shepard can have a pet hamster. The hamster can bought in the second game and then caught as it is loose on the Normandy in the third.

Int he Citadel DLC, the Shepard clone will take over your ship and move the hamster out of the room. Upon discovering the hamster, Shepard says this hilarious quote.

8 "You Big, STUPID Jellyfish." - Shepard

This line is told to a to a hanar, which are jellyfish-like in design. The voice acting and emphasis on "stupid" is perfect for the comedic effect.

Of course, this line is for those who pick Renegade Shepard choices in dialogue. While Renegade Shepard can sometimes be mean and even prejudiced toward aliens, some of the lines that come from the dialogue choices are hilarious.

7 "Hell Garrus, You Were Always Ugly. Slap Some Face Paint On There And No One Will Ever Notice." - Shepard

Garrus is a fan-favorite companion of the trilogy and is one of the few who stick by Shepard for all three game titles. In the second game, Garrus takes a missile to the face during his reunion with Shepard.

After medical treatment, he comes out with a scar and asks how bad it looks. Depending on the player, Shepard can respond with this line and gets Garrus to laugh.

6 "Definitely No Mimes Allowed! There's No Box! There Never Was!" - Grunt

Drunk Grunt from the Citadel DLC is a treasure trove of funny quotes. Honestly, the entire party scene is a gold mine of laughs. Grunt eventually gets so wasted that Shepard can find him alone in the shower going in and out of consciousness while mumbling crazy lines like this one about mimes.

5 (In Reponse To "Our Database Says You're Dead") "I Got Better." - Shepard

This is another case of funny Renegade Shepard. When reuniting with Liara, she will mention that she thought Shepard was dead. If the player picks the Renegade choice, Shepard will just say, "I got better," as though they got over a cold instead of death itself.

The line is so blunt and ridiculous that its hard not to laugh.

4 "Emergency Induction Port . . ." - Tali

Mass Effect 3 has a lot of sad moments due to characters dying right and left depending on the player choices. When mourning and getting through the stress of it all, Tali gets drunk.

She mentions sucking liquid through an "emergency induction port" to which Shepard says, "That's a straw," and Tali just repeats "emergency induction port." Yeah, she's really drunk.

3 "You Know, I Meant For That To Be A Warning Shot. Ah Well." - Garrus

Only lucky players who had Garrus with them during the battle against clone Shepard in the Citadel DLC had a chance to hear this line.

After the clone is dealt with, Brooks tries to make a run for it. If Shepard doesn't shoot her, a companion will. If its Garrus, he will say this line.

2 "They Used To Eat Flies." - Javik

Javik is a DLC character for Mass Effect 3, and he has a lot of funny lines due to his cultural differences with everyone else.

In one conversation, he is amazed to find that Salarians have evolved. The voice actor killed it with the line, "They used to eat flies," as it is said almost fearfully. Javik's shock is plain to hear.

1 "Weaponized Wall Fixtures Shepard. Wave Of The Future In Home Defense." - Zaeed

Among drunk character moments, there is also Zaeed in the Citadel DLC. He and drunk Garrus can decide to totally fortify Shepard's new apartment so that no one can ever harm him/her.

As the night passes, players can find Zaeed all over the place plotting and planning for ways the house can kill unwanted intruders.
