Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Metallic Lipstick: Try These for an Updated '90s Metallic Lip
Did somebody accidentally plough on my hot tub time machine? 'Cause, dude! — these Too Faced Melted Metal Lipsticks are taking me back to 1996…
I was wearing large hoop earrings almost every unmarried mean solar day while wearing out my Missy Elliott Supa Dupa Fly CD (I even so remember the showtime time I heard The Pelting; nail, mind blown), and I never left the house without metallic violet lipstick on my lips either.
Aye, I wore a night plum lip liner with 'em. I'd trace effectually the edges of my lips with the liner, and I NEVER BLENDED IT INTO THE LIPSTICK.
So tragic.
All I have to say is give thanks goodness selfies weren't a matter back and then. 🙂
These Too Faced Melted Metals ($21 each) are liquid lipsticks with a metallic finish and a wear time of 2-iii hours. They came out earlier this spring in eight shades and are now part of the permanent collection. Just clasp the tube, and liquid lipstick comes out of the angled sponge tip. Then apply directly to lips.
These actually feel like sparse, non-sticky glosses to me, because they're so lightweight, smooth and "moisture." You know how with some liquid lipsticks, subsequently you've been wearing then for a few minutes, they take on sort of a dry stop? Well, these don't. They stay slick the whole time.
They as well taste and aroma a footling like buttery carbohydrate (or sugary butter), but when I smack my lips together, I also notice faint notes of plastic…
It'southward non potent, though, and as long as I don't overthink it, I don't heed. Plus, with tastes and scents, i gal'southward plastic is another girl'due south Dulce de Leche.
Mostly, I'1000 pleasantly surprised by how piece of cake these are to wear in comparison to the metallic lipsticks I wore in the '90s. Those left me with some deep emotional scars, and now when I think of metallic lipsticks, I automatically presume they'll settle into my lip lines, look hella crazy, and make my lips feel dry out and uncomfortable.
Simply these have a metallic shimmer that's pretty chill. I can definitely see the polish in there, but it's not, like, "HEY! LOOK AT MY METALLIC ROBOT LIPS FROM 1996!"
They're very wearable and should not trigger bad '90s flashbacks. 🙂 Hallelujah!
I should also mention that my regularly dry lips practice require extra moisturizing when I vesture these, so I prep offset with a separate hydrating lip balm.
